Eddie was born in Simmesport, Louisiana on December 12, 1941. He is married to Jeannette Theriot Knoll, an Associate Justice of the Louisiana Supreme Court, with whom he has five sons: Triston, Eddie, Jr., Sonny, Blake and Jonathan. In 1959, Eddie graduated from Simmesport High School and served as President of the Future Farmers of America for the State of Louisiana until 1960. He received an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Louisiana State University and A & M College in 1963, and a juris doctorate from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans in 1966, where he was a member of the Delta Theta Phi legal fraternity. Eddie is a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana Bar Association, Avoyelles Parish Bar Association (President 1968-1969), the Louisiana Association for Justice and the American Association for Justice. Mr. Knoll is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state and federal courts. In 1972 at the age of 30, Eddie, was elected as the 32nd District Attorney of Avoyelles Parish, making him the youngest D.A. in the State of Louisiana. After serving five consecutive terms, Eddie retired in 2003 as the longest tenured D.A. in Louisiana. Eddie has earned an AV rating with Martindale-Hubbel, which is the highest rating both legally and professionally that can be assigned to an attorney. In 2010, Eddie was selected to the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), which is dedicated to preserving the “justice of the people.” |
Born on July 26, 1975, Eddie, Jr. is the second of Eddie and Jeannette’s five sons. Eddie, Jr. is married to Lauri Sanders Knoll, a native of Marksville, Avoyelles Parish, Louisiana, and is the proud father of two sons, Jerold Edward Knoll, III ("Trey") and Lawson Keller Knoll and one daughter Jeanne Elyse Knoll. Eddie, Jr. is a 1993 graduate of Marksville High School, and a 1997 graduate of Loyola University, New Orleans, where he received an undergraduate degree in Political Science. Eddie, Jr. was on Loyola University’s baseball team from 1993 – 1995. In May 2000, Eddie, Jr. received his law degree from Loyola University School of Law, New Orleans. Eddie also studied foreign legal systems at the University of Vienna, Austria, School of Law.
Eddie, Jr. is a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Avoyelles Parish Bar Association (President) and the Louisiana and American Associations for Justice. He is admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts of Louisiana. Eddie, Jr. is also admitted to practice in the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. He is also listed in America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals. |

Laura Bishop Knoll was born May 12, 1981 in New York City. She graduated from The Brearley School in Manhattan in 1999 and went on to attend Pomona College, Claremont Colleges in Claremont, California. While at Pomona College, Ms. Knoll captained the women’s cross-country and track and field teams, and earned All-American honors in distance running. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pomona College in 2003, magna cum laude, and a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honors Society. Laura graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California in 2009. While at Loyola, she served as an Editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles Law Review. She also worked as a Summer Associate at the prestigious multi-national law firm of Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, LLP. Laura is the wife of Edmond H. “Sonny” Knoll. They have a young daughter, Lyla, and are expecting another child in February of 2012. |
Edmond H. “Sonny” Knoll is the third son of Eddie and Jeannette Knoll. He graduated from Holy Savior Menard Central High School in 1995, and went on to attend LSU where he played baseball during the 1996 and 1997 National Championship seasons. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Loyola University New Orleans in 2000, and earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Loyola New Orleans School of Law in 2003. Sonny also received an International Law Certificate from Loyola.
Sonny is married to Laura Knoll. They live in Marksville with their daughter, Lyla, and are expecting another child in February 2012. Sonny is admitted to practice in Louisiana State Courts, as well as the U.S. Eastern and Western District Courts of Louisiana. Sonny is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, the Avoyelles Parish Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Association for Justice, and the Louisiana Association for Justice. |
